Florida Class 2A boys cross country team rankings through five weeks: August 21-September 19, 2026
Bolles ran the adidas XC Challenge in North Carolina on Friday. That file is not in the pool yet, so Bolles holds first on the five that finished third at the Horse Park with 237, Brantley Rigdon 16:14.4 and Aidan Chandler 16:24.8 up front and a 57.7 spread that is the second-tightest in the class. Gulliver Prep is second and had the weekend of the class: Adrian Iziliaev and Kayaan Ghaffar fifth and sixth in the Spanish River Race of Champions, a win in the 2A scoring of that race with 129, and a second group winning the 2A scoring of the 1A-2A race with 107. Bolles beat Gulliver at the Horse Park, 237 to 282, and that is the order until they meet again.
The middle turned over. Calvary Christian of Clearwater was fourth of 22 in the North Port Invite elite race, the first 2A team in a field won by Fort Myers 3A, and goes from fourth to third. Dunedin was third at the Mitchell Mustang Invite with 78 and beat McKeel, fourth with 111, in the same race; Dunedin goes from ninth to sixth and McKeel from third to eighth, on the grass and on a 2:07 spread behind Aidan Alam and Cal Howard. Lake Highland Prep was second at Hawks on the Hill behind Lake Minneola 4A and moves to fifth, a point behind Wolfson, which did not race.
Berkeley Prep, eighth at North Port, comes in at tenth. Pine Crest, second to Gulliver in the 2A scoring of the Race of Champions, drops from eighth to twelfth. Data and judgment, and we will miss somebody.
A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 2A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom. A second group won the 2A scoring of the 1A-2A race with 107, Luca Levins 14th in 17:19.0. Iziliaev and Ghaffar are the best one-two in the class after Bolles; the fourth and fifth men, Tyler Keating 17:28.6 and Christopher Arana 17:34.2, are the gap to Bolles. Second, behind Bolles on the Horse Park result.
3. Calvary Christian (Clearwater): 278 points

North Port reads 44 seconds fast for boys, so those times level slower than they look, but a fourth in that field is the best team result by a 2A school this week outside Gulliver. A 1:30.0 spread. Fourth to third past McKeel.
4. Wolfson (Jacksonville): 300 points

A 40.7 spread, the tightest in the ten, and no front runner to go with it. Fifth to fourth, a point ahead of Lake Highland; the two have not met.
5. Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): 301 points

8. McKeel (Lakeland): 327 points

Won Land O' Lakes with 61 a week earlier, and that win is not held against them. Alam, Howard and Nolan O'Steen are a top three most 2A schools would take; the 2:07.0 spread to Lucas Caram-Andruet and Alexander Costilla is the widest in the ten. Third to eighth, on the Mitchell result to Dunedin and on the figures of the three teams that went past.
9. Episcopal (Jacksonville): 410 points

The five that rank them are from the Horse Park, 28th there with 807: Grayson Smith 17:12.8, Rick Schultz 17:36.8, then William Bunch, Joshua Oche and Dylan Patterson between 18:22 and 18:31. Tenth to ninth.
10. Berkeley Prep (Tampa): 413 points

North Port reads 44 seconds fast for boys. Twenty-ninth at the Horse Park two weeks ago. In at tenth from eleventh, on Galuski's 17:02.7 season figure and a 1:35.5 spread behind him.

11. Cocoa Beach, 429, was third at the Rockledge Raider Classic with 89 behind Vanguard 3A and Rockledge 3A, Lars Manning seventh in 16:44.6, and is up from twelfth. 12. Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale), 475, was second to Gulliver in the 2A scoring of the Spanish River Race of Champions with 359, Emilio Tobon 21st in 16:31.8, and drops from eighth. 13. West Shore (Melbourne), 566, was fourth at Rockledge with 122. 14. FAU (Boca Raton), 615, was third in the 2A scoring of the Spanish River 1A-2A race with 143, Michael Gomez winning the race and Robert Joines fifth.
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet. The boys' field ran about a second slower in August than at state, and that is removed before a course is rated.
- Each runner is scored on his whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts five times, last week four, week three three times, week two twice, opening weekend once. A race he won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 2A team and are scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins. 110 2A boys teams cleared the bar; 0 of them are projections. Scores climb every week as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages.
- Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, and neither has raced on a rated course since, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. Those moves are listed above.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P). A returner who has raced for another school this season is not projected at the old one.
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
- Bolles ran the adidas XC Challenge in Cary, North Carolina, on Friday. That file is not in the pool yet; Bolles is ranked on the Horse Park five, and nothing on this list depends on it.
- Spanish River scored both its boys races by FHSAA class. In the Race of Champions the 2A scores were Gulliver 129 and Pine Crest 359; in the 1A-2A race, Gulliver 107, Wellen Park 133 and FAU High 143. The course reads about half a minute fast for boys.
- The Katie Caples Middle School Meet high school race, where Episcopal ran, is not rated; those results are on the site and count for nothing here until one of those boys races a rated course.
