Pensacola Christian holds first without racing, Maclay ran the Southern Showcase championship race and stays second, Cornerstone Classical moves to third past Holy Trinity, and Out-of-Door comes in at tenth while Lakeland Christian drops out despite winning the Raider Open.

Pensacola Christian did not race and is first for a fifth week, on the best average and one of the tightest spreads in the class. Maclay took its varsity to Huntsville and finished 24th of 28 in the Southern Showcase championship race with David Barton 31st in 15:51.5, and stays second. Cornerstone Classical did not race its varsity and moves to third past Holy Trinity, on figure; the two have not met on a rated course this fall.
Holy Trinity was the first Class 1A team in the Spanish River 1A-2A race on Friday, 63 to Southwest Florida Christian's 75 in the 1A scoring, with an eighth grader, Zamari Blumenberg, leading them in 17:10.6. Spanish River reads about half a minute fast for boys, so those times leveled well slower than the Astronaut runs a week earlier, and the Cornerstone figure edges ahead. Holy Trinity stays above Southwest Florida Christian, which is what the grass said.
Out-of-Door, 17th at the North Port Invite on the tightest five in the class, comes in at tenth. Lakeland Christian won the Raider Open with 42 and drops to eleventh anyway: the win is not held against it, but two teams below it ran better figures on Saturday. St. Johns Country Day, ninth at Katie Caples, goes past South Florida HEAT. Data and judgment, and we will miss somebody.
A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 1A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom. A 1:09.7 spread and a 17:24.0 average, both the best in the class. First for a fifth week, and the gap to second in the virtual race is 40 points.
2. Maclay (Tallahassee): 162 points

Twenty-fourth of 28 in the Southern Showcase championship race with 581, a field led by Belen Jesuit 3A: David Barton 31st in 15:51.5, then Will Cintron 17:21.7, Logan Phipps 17:23.5, Beau May 17:36.3 and Ben Lawson 17:52.7 in a 250-boy race. Barton is the best runner on any 1A team and the four behind him sit between 17:46 and 17:56 on the season. Second again, eight seconds a runner behind Pensacola Christian.
3. Cornerstone Classical (Jacksonville): 188 points

Twenty-first at the Horse Park with 610 two weeks ago, two places behind Maclay. Fourth to third past Holy Trinity, on figure; the two have not met on a rated course.
4. Holy Trinity (Melbourne): 221 points

6. Circle Christian (Winter Park): 307 points

The top three are as good as any in the class outside Pensacola Christian; the 2:42.9 spread behind them is the widest in the ten. Sixth for a second week.
7. Oak Hall (Gainesville): 345 points

8. St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park): 451 points

Won the Kings Academy Invitational on September 12 with 45, a point ahead of FAU High 2A, on a course we could not price. Eighth to ninth as St. Johns Country Day went past on Saturday's figures.
10. Out-of-Door (Sarasota): 531 points

Seventeenth of 22 in the North Port Invite elite race with 422, Finn Randall 53rd in 17:32.6, in a field won by Fort Myers 3A. North Port reads 44 seconds fast for boys, so the times leveled slower than they look, but the five on the season sit inside 51 seconds of each other, the tightest spread in the class. Eleventh at Wellen Park and fifth at the North Port Preserve Pursuit before that. In at tenth from thirteenth.

11. Lakeland Christian, 535, won the Raider Open on Saturday with 42 on a course that reads very fast for boys; the win is not held against them, and Out-of-Door and St. Johns Country Day went past on their own Saturday figures. 12. Harvest Community (Jacksonville), 537, was fourth at the Lake Buena Vista Invitational with 110, James Roland winning in 16:42.4 and Sam Jacobo fifth in 17:22.4, and is up from fourteenth. 13. Sheridan Hills Christian (Hollywood), 566, was fourth in the 1A scoring at Spanish River with 131, Josh Cadelien 17:32.9 up front. 14. Seacoast Collegiate (Santa Rosa Beach), 574, has not raced since Pace.
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet. The boys' field ran about a second slower in August than at state, and that is removed before a course is rated.
- Each runner is scored on his whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts five times, last week four, week three three times, week two twice, opening weekend once. A race he won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 1A team and are scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins. 102 1A boys teams cleared the bar; 1 of them is a projection. Scores climb every week as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages.
- Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, and neither has raced on a rated course since, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. Those moves are listed above.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P). A returner who has raced for another school this season is not projected at the old one.
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
- Spanish River scored its 1A-2A race by FHSAA class. Holy Trinity 63, Southwest Florida Christian 75, Marathon 106, Sheridan Hills 131 and South Florida HEAT 182 are the Class 1A scores from that race; the course reads about half a minute fast for boys.
- Kings Academy, where South Florida HEAT won on September 12, is a course we could not price. The Raider Open and North Port both read very fast for boys; Lakeland Christian's win and Out-of-Door's run are leveled accordingly.
