Bishop Moore won the Florida Horse Park Invitational with 141 points out of 67 teams, the best team result any Florida girls' program has produced this fall, and did it against most of this class. Ponte Vedra was third in that race, Lourdes fifth, Chiles sixth, Vanguard ninth, South Fork 16th and Tavares 22nd. Six of the top ten in Class 3A were on the same course on the same day, and the race settled the order among them.
Bishop Kenny was not there. Three weeks in, they have not run a varsity race, and their returning five, all state qualifiers inside 1:36 of each other, is still the best paper in the class. Paper is all it is. A team that has won a 67-team race is ranked ahead of it, and it stays there until Bishop Kenny runs. Chiles has one of the four best season figures in Florida and is fifth here, because three teams beat them on Saturday. That is the list.
Starting this week a team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 3A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom. The time next to each runner is what she actually ran in her most recent race that counts; the figure in parentheses is what it is worth at Cecil Field. Won the Horse Park with 141, 42 points clear of Creekside. Annabella Tomasic 18:28.4, third overall, Ella Valentina Valenzuela 19:05.6, Lauren Susnis 19:25.9, Caroline Byrnes 19:58.5, Ava Hryciw 21:15.5. Third a week ago on a projection; first now on the biggest team win of the season. The 2:47 spread is the reason the virtual race has them second, and the reason they are first anyway is that they beat every 3A team in Ocala by at least 49 points. Tomasic ran nearly a minute slower than she did on this grass a year ago, and they still won going away.

11. St. Petersburg, 449, one point behind Tavares, on the Ragin' Storm run from opening weekend and nothing since. 12. Fort Myers, 474, won the 3D Sommers Invitational with 53 on a 0:43.4 spread; Kayden Smutney, Lyla Parker, Gianna Lemons and Maegan Adkins are within 15 seconds of each other on the season. 13. Aubrey Rogers, 462, was third at 3D Sommers behind Fort Myers and Estero, on a 0:39.1 spread, the tightest in the class; they were ninth a week ago and the virtual race has them 11th, but Fort Myers beat them. 14. Fort Walton Beach, 488, won the Dolphin Dash with 24 and is ranked on Pine Forest, because both of their wins would lower the figure.
Gulf Breeze, 15th, was second at the Pace Patriot Invitational behind Niceville; Ashton Dahlem won that race and is the No. 9 individual in the class. East Lake has Katelin Wilcox, the No. 1 individual in Class 3A, and is 26th. Zephyrhills, with Lydia Vincent, cannot field a scoreable five. Springstead, with Lainee Mercer, is 42nd. Three of the top five girls in the class run for teams that are not close to this page.
Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Ponte Vedra over Chiles (Tallahassee): 3rd and 6th at Horse Park. Chiles has the better average by 22 seconds a runner. Ponte Vedra beat them by 62 points at the Horse Park.
- Lourdes (Miami) over Chiles (Tallahassee): 5th and 6th at Horse Park. Same race, 33 points.
- Fort Myers over Aubrey Rogers (Naples): 1st and 3rd at 3D Sommers. Both are just outside the ten. Fort Myers won the 3D Sommers Invitational; Aubrey Rogers was third.
- South Fork (Stuart) over Tavares: 16th and 22nd at Horse Park. Tavares has the better average by five seconds a runner. South Fork beat them by 79 at the Horse Park.
- Bishop Moore over Bishop Kenny. The virtual race has Bishop Kenny first by 24 points on a projection that averages four seconds a runner better. A 67-team win outranks a projection a few seconds better, the same call as the statewide list.
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet. The girls' field ran about half a minute slower in August than at state, and that is removed before a course is rated.
- Each runner is scored on her whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts three times, last week twice, opening weekend once. A race she won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 3A team and are scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins. 80 3A girls teams cleared the bar; 2 of them are projections. Scores climb every week as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages.
- Where two teams in this class raced each other this week with at least three of their scoring seven, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. Those moves are listed above.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P). A returner who has raced for another school this season is not projected at the old one.
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
