Florida Class 3A girls cross country team rankings through six weeks: August 21-September 26, 2026
The top of 3A girls sat still this weekend, and so does the list. Bishop Moore is first on its 62-63 win over Bishop Kenny at Katie Caples, the closest team race in the state this season. Chiles is third.
Ponte Vedra was third at Bale-N-Trail, the first 3A team, without its No. 1, Piper Ross. Olivia Kaminsky was ninth in 19:34.9. PV beat Vanguard at the Horse Park, 190 to 289, and ranks ahead of Dillard's projection because a real result beats a projection a few points better. Racing Bale does not cost it fourth. Osceola won Todd Howsare with 29, Tavares won Weeki Wachee, and Fort Walton Beach won Argonaut behind Mia Jucha and comes in at tenth.
Pre-State is two weeks out, and Moore and Kenny may see each other again before then.
A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. A team that sat out the weekend is not marked down for it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 3A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom.
About the times. The average on each line is the converted season figure the scoring uses, in Cecil Field terms, and so are the times beside each runner's name. Times in the write-ups are what the kids actually ran that day; the race log for every runner is on the rankings page.

1. Bishop Moore (Orlando): 118 points

Did not race. Won Katie Caples on Sept. 19 by a point, 62 to 63 over Bishop Kenny, and won the Horse Park. Annabella Tomasic is the best runner in 3A. Ella Valentina Valenzuela and Lauren Susnis follow her, and the spread behind them is three minutes. Kenny scores better in the virtual race, but Moore won the race, and that holds until they meet again. First.
2. Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville): 102 points

Did not race its top seven. Second at Katie Caples by a point, after winning the Buchholz Bobcats Classic with 29. Camila Giles and Jillian Jakab lead a five that is only 1:27 apart, the tightest among the top three. Kenny's fifth is well ahead of Moore's fifth, and if that holds at state the point could flip. Second.
3. Chiles (Tallahassee): 115 points

Has not raced its top five since the Horse Park, where it was sixth. Kaia Ables and Emma-Claire Tanenbaum run together at the front, and Chloe Molen and Charlotte Sikes are close. Third.
4. Ponte Vedra: 229 points
Converted average 20:31.5 · 1-5 spread 1:36.2 · finished 19-39-41-50-80 in the class · This week: 3rd of 14 at Bale-N-Trail (105).

5. Vanguard (Ocala): 233 points

Did not race. Won the Rockledge meet on Sept. 18 with 40. Lyla Hallick is one of the best in 3A, and Cierra Mills and Reese Cartwright have been dropping time. The fourth and fifth are the gap. Fifth, behind Ponte Vedra, which beat it at the Horse Park.
6. Dillard (Fort Lauderdale): 226 points (P)

Just missed
11. Estero (497) did not race and was tenth last week; Fort Walton Beach passed it by 75 points in the virtual race. 12. Aubrey Rogers (565) and 13. Fort Myers (568) both beat 14. St. Petersburg (515) at the North Port Invite on Sept. 19, and that holds; St. Petersburg was fourth at Lakewood Ranch on Saturday behind Isla Trunk's 19:57.0.
Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Bishop Moore over Bishop Kenny: 1st and 2nd at the Katie Caples Invitational, and neither has raced its top runners since.
- Vanguard over Dillard: Vanguard's raced five over Dillard's projection: the projection scores three points better, and a real result outranks a projection a few points better, the rule since week 3 (2026-09-20).
- Aubrey Rogers over St. Petersburg: Aubrey Rogers beat St. Petersburg at the North Port Invite on Sept. 19, 176 to 210, and the two have not met since (Darrin, 2026-09-29: loss stands).
- Fort Myers over St. Petersburg: Fort Myers beat St. Petersburg at the North Port Invite on Sept. 19, 198 to 210, and the two have not met since (Darrin, 2026-09-29: loss stands).
- Ponte Vedra over Vanguard: Ponte Vedra holds fourth: it beat Vanguard at the Horse Park, 190 to 289, and ranks ahead of Dillard's projection on the real-result rule; racing Bale-N-Trail does not cost it the spot (Darrin, 2026-09-29).
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet.
- Each runner is scored on her whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts six times, last week five, and so on back to opening weekend, which counts once. A race she won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 3A team, scored the way cross country is scored. 90 3A girls teams cleared the bar; 1 of them is a projection. Points climb as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order.
- Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. New this week: a win keeps counting when the winner races again, and a team that sat out the weekend does not lose ground to a team that beat nobody it had to beat. A race run without a team's No. 1 or without two of its scoring five is not held against it.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P).
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
