Bishop Moore and Bishop Kenny raced each other for the first time this season at the Katie Caples Invitational on Saturday, and Bishop Moore won by a point, 62 to 63. Annabella Tomasic won the race in 17:24.0, Ella Valentina Valenzuela was fifth, Lauren Susnis tenth, Caroline Byrnes 16th in 19:39 and Carolyn Susnis 33rd in 20:26. Kenny answered with Camila Giles and Jillian Jakab second and third, then Taylor Lawhon 18th, Rebecca McEnany 19th and Alexandra Lumpkin 24th in 19:55.
The virtual race still scores Kenny ahead, 113 to 123, with Chiles between them at 122. The grass had Moore, and neither has raced since, so Moore is first and Kenny second, and Kenny stays above Chiles on figure. A word on November, because a point can go either way. Moore won by a point, and in November it is a harder ask, because Kenny's pack is deeper: its fifth runner was 31 seconds ahead of Moore's fifth on Saturday, and if Kenny's fifth gets in front of Moore's fourth at state, the point goes the other way.
Chiles did not race and moves up to third. Ponte Vedra was fifth at Katie Caples and is fourth. Vanguard won the Rockledge Raider Classic with 40 and moves from seventh to fifth, above Dillard's projection, because a raced five outranks a projection that scores a few points better. Lourdes won the Class 3A scoring of the Spanish River Race of Champions and still slips to seventh. Osceola won the Mitchell Mustang Invite with 33, Tavares was fourth at the Coach Joe McKinney Classic, and Estero, second at the North Port Invite behind Berkeley Prep 2A, is new to the ten. This is data and judgment, and one of these ten is in the wrong place; the grass will tell us which.
A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 3A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom. Kaia Ables 18:59.0 and Emma-Claire Tanenbaum 19:00.3 are the best one-two in the class, then Chloe Molen, Charlotte Sikes and Madeline Brockmeier. Second in the virtual race at 122, one point behind Kenny; fourth to third here, because Ponte Vedra's Katie Caples run leveled behind its Horse Park figure. Second at Cecil Field by two points to Niceville 4A in August, sixth at the Horse Park with 252.

Katie Caples reads about half a minute fast for girls, and the five leveled a little slower than the Horse Park, where they were third with 190. The 1:00.5 spread is the tightest in the ten. Third to fourth: a week ago the Horse Park finish over Chiles held them third, that rule lapses once a team races again on a rated course, and Chiles has the better figure by about half a minute a runner.
5. Vanguard (Ocala): 227 points

Alessandra Perez, their best on the season a week ago, was 37th in 21:06.0. Spanish River reads about 33 seconds fast for girls, so the runs leveled behind the Horse Park figures, where they were fifth with 219, and the average slipped. Fifth to seventh, past by Vanguard on the grass and by Dillard's paper on the figures. The meet was scored by class, so the win sits in the runners' figures and not as a team result.
8. Osceola (Seminole): 330 points

11. Fort Walton Beach, 499, did not race; the Dueling Summits and Dolphin Dash wins are still not held against them, and Mia Jucha leads a five that has not been on a rated course since. 12. Aubrey Rogers, 525, was eighth at the North Port Invite with 176, Eva Atanasov 26th in 20:24.2, and drops from tenth; it finished two places ahead of St. Petersburg and sits above it on that result. 13. St. Petersburg, 503, was tenth at North Port with 210, Isla Trunk sixth in 19:15.3, the better virtual score and the lower finish. 14. Gulf Breeze, 551, did not race.
Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Bishop Moore over Bishop Kenny: 1st and 2nd at the Katie Caples Invitational, and neither has raced since.
- Aubrey Rogers over St. Petersburg: 8th and 10th at the North Port Invite, and neither has raced since.
- Vanguard over Dillard: Vanguard's raced five over Dillard's projection: the projection scores three points better, and a real result outranks a projection a few points better, the rule since week 3 (2026-09-20)
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet. The girls' field ran about half a minute slower in August than at state, and that is removed before a course is rated.
- Each runner is scored on her whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts five times, last week four, week three three times, week two twice, opening weekend once. A race she won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 3A team and are scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins. 87 3A girls teams cleared the bar; 1 of them is a projection. Scores climb every week as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages.
- Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, and neither has raced on a rated course since, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. Those moves are listed above.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P). A returner who has raced for another school this season is not projected at the old one.
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
- Spanish River scored its meet by FHSAA class, so the scoring saw no team rows there; Lourdes' win in the 3A scoring of the Race of Champions is in the runners' figures, not a team result, and Dillard's two finishers there do not replace its projection.
- A meet a team won never lowers its figure: Bishop Moore's Horse Park win, Vanguard's week 2 win, Osceola's three wins and Estero's Fort Myers win are listed and not counted against them.
- Mitchell reads a little slow for girls on a thin rating. That is a comment on how few runners we could compare, not on the meet.
