Florida Class 2A boys cross country team rankings through three weeks: August 21-September 5, 2026
Bolles and Gulliver Prep were third and fourth at the Florida Horse Park on Saturday, 237 to 282, in a race with 75 teams in it. Bolles was six points behind Flagler Palm Coast for second. Gulliver was tied with Doral Academy and lost the sixth-man tiebreak. Those are the two best teams in Class 2A, in that order, by a distance from the rest, and they have now raced each other. The gap between second and third on this page is 143 points.
Gulliver's projection is gone: they opened with a real result and it was better than the paper. Eastside jumped from 14th to fourth on its Horse Park run. Pine Crest is on the list for the first time. And Dunedin won the Parker Valby Invitational, Calvary Christian won the Grayling Memorial and neither result is held against them.
Starting this week a team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 2A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom. The time next to each runner is what he actually ran in his most recent race that counts; the figure in parentheses is what it is worth at Cecil Field. A projected team's marks are its runners' 2025 state times.

Third at the Horse Park with 237, six behind Flagler and 45 ahead of Gulliver. 2. Gulliver Prep (Pinecrest): 99 points

Second a week ago on a projection, second now on a race, and the race was better. Fourth at the Horse Park with 282: Kayaan Ghaffar 16:10.5 was 14th in a 549-runner field, Adrian Iziliaev 16:28.3, Emilio Perez-Garcia 16:36.6, then Tyler Keating, Nicolas Altaba, Aston Conrad and Christopher Arana between 17:23 and 17:29. Four boys inside six seconds of each other for the fourth through seventh spots. That is a program, not a lineup.
3. McKeel (Lakeland): 242 points

Still on the Lake Region run from August 29 and did not race this week. Aidan Alam 16:46.8 and Cal Howard 16:56.5 on the day, worth 16:13 and 16:23 at Cecil, are the No. 4 and No. 7 individuals in the class. Then a 54-second wait for Nolan O'Steen and a two-minute one for the fourth man. Third on the front two.
4. Eastside: 264 points

Fourteenth to fourth. Luke Engels ran 16:33.0 at Cecil Field on opening night and has not raced since; on Saturday at the Horse Park, without him, Elijah Stringer 17:13.8 and Griffin Morris 17:45.1 opened their seasons, Chesley McDonald ran 17:40.6 and Ethan Nonato took more than a minute off his Cecil time. They were 27th there with 731, one place ahead of Episcopal and two ahead of Berkeley Prep. The whole group together has not happened yet.
5. Dunedin: 274 points
Season average 17:38.8 · 1-5 spread 1:54.4 · finished 14-20-50-61-129 in the class · Jim Ryun · This week: 1st at Parker Valby (65). Won in week 3; that run is not held against them.

A meet a team wins never lowers its figure, so they are ranked on their Jim Ryun run from opening weekend, a 17:38.8 average, and that puts them fifth. Fourth a week ago.
6. Calvary Christian (Clearwater): 296 points

7. Pine Crest (Fort Lauderdale): 339 points

8. Lake Highland Prep (Orlando): 344 points

Second at the St. Cloud Invitational with 114, and the tightest five in the class: Santiago Salazar 17:25.1, Colten Scheuplein 17:46.3, Evan Okaty 17:42.7, Zachary Chaet 17:53.8, Christopher Herbert 18:12.4, with Cavan Guest and Alexander Betancourt at 18:09 and 17:58 behind them. Three races, each faster than the last, a 0:54 spread, and they dropped from sixth to eighth anyway because Eastside and Pine Crest arrived above them. A hard team to score against and an easy one to like.
9. Episcopal (Jacksonville): 396 points

Seventeen points ahead of Berkeley Prep in that race, which is why they are a place ahead of them here.
10. Berkeley Prep (Tampa): 371 points

Twenty-ninth at the Horse Park with 824. Cole Galuski ran 16:49.9, 46 seconds better than his Whispering Pines time, and Rai Mehta, Adrian Nel and Colin Maloney were 17:50 to 18:14 behind him. The fifth man was Tim Paige at 18:37.1. The virtual race has them ninth and Episcopal tenth; Episcopal beat them on Saturday, and the race decides it.
Just missed
11. Wolfson, 399, three points behind Episcopal on the same Cecil Field run they have had since August 21, and down from seventh for not racing. 12. Cocoa Beach, 484, was seventh at St. Cloud, Elijah Daly 17:34.2 in his first race. 13. West Shore, 585, has not raced since the Kowboy. 14. Keys Gate, 604, was sixth at the FNU Invitational, Darian Rodriguez 17:58.4 there worth 16:59 at Cecil.
American Heritage was tenth a week ago on a projection. They raced, fifth at Dr. Garcia with 236, and the run is 26th here. Suwannee, 17th, was 42nd at the Horse Park with a 1:00.8 spread and nobody under 18:03. Pensacola Catholic, 18th, has Frederick Gunther, the No. 3 individual in the class, and was eighth at the Pace Patriot Invitational.
Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Episcopal (Jacksonville) over Berkeley Prep (Tampa): 28th and 29th at Horse Park. Berkeley Prep has the better season figure by six seconds a runner. Episcopal beat them by 17 points at the Horse Park.
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet. The boys' field ran about a second slower in August than at state, and that is removed before a course is rated.
- Each runner is scored on his whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts three times, last week twice, opening weekend once. A race he won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 2A team and are scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins. 97 2A boys teams cleared the bar; 0 of them are projections. Scores climb every week as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages.
- Where two teams in this class raced each other this week with at least three of their scoring seven, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. Those moves are listed above.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P). A returner who has raced for another school this season is not projected at the old one.
