Every ranked girl who raced in conference week won, Natalia Gaona-Zelaya is seven for seven, and the top 10 holds.
Florida girls cross country, through ten weeks: August 21-October 24, 2026
This was conference and county championship week, and almost nobody on this list raced anybody else on it. New World, on October 17, is still the last time most of them met, and its order holds.
The list does not change. Every girl on it who raced this week won: Natalia Gaona-Zelaya at SAC East in 17:20.8, Arabella Duffell at the Winter Park District Preview, Katherine Eudaly at the Hillsborough County Championships, Alba Antunez-Perez at the Boca City Championship, Lyla Hallick at the Marion Athletic Conference Championships and Camila Giles at the Middleburg Bronco Classic. Annabella Tomasic, Emma Balaban, Madison Muller and Sofie Stam did not race and hold their places.
Every time is weighed against where it was run, using runners who raced both that course and last November's state meet, with Cecil Field as the yardstick. A runner is ranked on her whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a race she won never counts against her. We use the data and our own eyes, and we will get one or two wrong along the way. The boys' list is here.
1. Natalia Gaona-Zelaya, Wiregrass Ranch, Sr., 4A
Won the SAC East Championship on October 24 in 17:20.8, 45 seconds ahead of Lydia Vincent of Zephyrhills. Seven starts, seven wins, including New World in 17:02, 12 seconds under the course record. She has lost to nobody this season.
2. Annabella Tomasic, Bishop Moore, So., 3A
Did not race. Second at New World in 17:04, two seconds behind Gaona-Zelaya and ahead of Balaban, Duffell and Muller. Won Katie Caples in 17:24.0 and the Hagerty Invitational in 17:24.8.
3. Emma Balaban, IMG Academy, Jr.
Did not race. Third at New World in 17:10. Fifteenth of 324 in the Race of Champions in Cary on October 3, the first Florida girl across, and winner of the Southern Showcase and the IMGA Summit.
4. Arabella Duffell, Lake Nona, Jr., 4A
Won the District Preview Meet at Winter Park on October 23 in 18:36.00, 75 seconds ahead of Jillian Davis of Apopka. Fourth at New World in 17:13, ahead of Muller. Second of 271 at PR'ville in Huntsville in September.
5. Madison Muller, Riverview (Sarasota), Jr., 4A
Did not race. Fifth at New World in 17:16, a season best and her only loss of the fall. Won the Raider Open in 17:35.2 and Wellen Park.
6. Katherine Eudaly, Plant, Jr., 4A
Won the Hillsborough County Championships on October 21 in 18:13.3, 41 seconds ahead of Analyse St John of Lennard, in her first race since September 19. Won the North Port Invite in 17:37.3, with Vincent third. She has not met the five girls above her this season and stays directly behind Muller.
Training
Know your pace before the gun goes off.
Districts are about running the first mile right. The Garmin Forerunner 265 shows pace and heart rate on a bright screen and keeps a record of every workout, so the race plan is built on what you have actually run.

Method notes
- A head-to-head loss stands until the two runners meet again. Where results form a loop, the most recent meeting decides. Every pair among the top 60 on the season board was checked against this week's results; no two girls in the ten met.
- Head-to-heads from September 12 and earlier no longer order runners; the times still count in the season figure. A missed week is not scored: a runner who did not race holds the place the season earned until someone beats them. Tomasic, Balaban, Muller and Stam hold on that rule.
- The times printed are the times run.
- 40 meets from October 18 to 24 are new in the numbers, most of them conference and county championships. Left out: middle school and elementary races and races shorter than 5K. Several of this week's courses read differently for boys and girls (Esca-Rosa, Lake County, Boca City, Palm League, 5 Star and Sebastian River). None of them decides a place on this list.
- High school races can include middle school runners at private schools, and they are ranked like anyone else. IMG Academy is an FHSAA Independent; its runners are ranked.
Every result behind this list is on the site in the rankings section. Last week: the week 9 girls list.
