Bolles is first in the Class 2A girls team rankings after New World, Carrollton second at full strength, and Episcopal, which did not race, third. Cardinal Gibbons climbs to sixth.

Florida Class 2A girls cross country team rankings through nine weeks: August 21-October 17, 2026

Most of the state's best teams met at the New World Fall Spectacular in Jacksonville on Saturday, the deepest meet of the Florida season so far. Where two teams met there, that result orders them. Some teams were missing a top runner, so we also scored the race as if every team had its full top five, the same way our statewide lists did, and that full-strength result is the one we use. How we placed the missing runners is at the bottom.

Bolles was second in the Girls Elite race with 208, behind only IMG Academy, and the first Florida team across. Sofie Stam was ninth in 17:56. Carrollton ran without Daniela Hernandez, its No. 1, and was fifth with 311. With Hernandez placed at 18:30, slower than her season says she runs, Carrollton scores 223, five points behind Bolles' 218. Bolles won the race and gets the nod.

Episcopal did not run a team at New World; Kate Brice ran as an individual and was 37th in 18:50. It has the best season figures of any 2A team and won JAC on October 10, but it has not met Bolles or Carrollton, and our statewide list has those three first, second and seventh in the state. It is third. Berkeley Prep was the next 2A team at New World, 16th with 431, and holds fourth.

A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. A team that sat out the weekend is not marked down for it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 2A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom.

About the times. The average on each line is the converted season figure the scoring uses, in Cecil Field terms, and so are the times beside each runner's name. Times in the write-ups are what the kids actually ran that day; the race log for every runner is on the rankings page.

The statewide lists: Week 9 girls team top 10 and Week 9 boys team top 10. The 2A girls individuals are here, and last week’s edition of this list is here. The other classes this week: 2A boys, 1A girls, 3A girls, 4A girls.

  • Cardinal Gibbons over Ransom Everglades: 595 to 665 at the New World Fall Spectacular, scored at full strength.

  • West Shore over Calvary Christian Academy: 806 to 905 at the New World Fall Spectacular, scored at full strength.

How we ranked them

  • Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet.
  • Each runner is scored on her whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts nine times, last week eight, and so on back to opening weekend, which counts once. A race she won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
  • Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 2A team, scored the way cross country is scored. 93 2A girls teams cleared the bar; none of them is a projection. Points climb as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order.
  • Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat until they meet again. Where results go round in a circle, the newest meeting decides. A race run without a team's No. 1 or without two of its scoring five is not held against it.
  • Results from September 12 and earlier no longer order teams. The times still count in the figures.
  • New World is read at full strength, the same way as on the statewide list: for every Florida team there missing one of its season top five, we put the missing runner back at her season figure converted to the New World course, added 19 seconds to be conservative, and re-scored the whole race. Those added times are estimates, not results.
  • These lists follow the statewide team list: a team ranked on it is ahead of every team in its class that is not, and teams on both lists are in the same order. A team that did not race this weekend holds its place.
  • A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P).
  • Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
  • Carrollton, Cardinal Gibbons, Ransom Everglades and West Shore are ranked on their full-strength New World scores: Daniela Hernandez went in at 18:30, Sofia Licata at 21:31, Nina Lazo at 21:16 and Makayla Horst at 21:30.
  • Episcopal did not run a team at New World, and Montverde and Cardinal Newman did not race there; all three hold their places against the teams they have not met.

Every result behind this list is in the rankings section, and the full weekend is in the weekend recap.
