Bolles is first after New World, Carrollton comes in second, and three teams that ran short-handed (Carrollton, Bishop Moore and Bishop Kenny) are ranked on a conservative full-strength score.
Florida girls cross country team rankings through nine weeks: August 21-October 17, 2026
Almost every team on these lists met at the New World Fall Spectacular in Jacksonville on Saturday, in Elite races of 46 boys teams and 45 girls teams. It was the deepest meet of the Florida season so far, and our weekend recap has the full story. Where two teams met there, the order on the grass decides. A team that did not race holds the place its season earned.
Three of the best girls teams in the state did not bring their full lineups. Carrollton (2A) ran without its No. 1, Daniela Hernandez. Bishop Kenny (3A) ran without its No. 1, Camila Giles, for the second straight week. Bishop Moore (3A) ran without its No. 5, Carolyn Susnis, and had only six finishers. Ranking those three on the race alone would rank them on a lineup they will not race at state, so this week we also scored New World as if every team had its full top five, and that full-strength race orders the list. How we placed the missing runners is at the bottom, and we kept it conservative on purpose.
Bolles (2A) is first. It was second at New World with 208, behind IMG Academy, and beat every Florida team in the series. Sofie Stam was ninth in 17:56. At full strength, with Hernandez placed at 18:30, Bolles is still first by five points over Carrollton. It won the race, and it gets the nod.
Carrollton is second. It scored 311 without Hernandez; with her in at 18:30, slower than her season says she runs, it scores 223, ahead of Niceville (4A), which drops to third. Chiles (3A) is fourth. Bishop Moore is fifth: with Susnis in, its score goes from 360 to 288. Creekside (4A) is sixth, and Episcopal (2A), which did not race its girls at New World, holds seventh, right behind Creekside, which beat it at Katie Caples. Lourdes (3A) comes in at eighth and Ponte Vedra (3A) is ninth. Bishop Kenny is tenth: Giles is worth 127 points to it, from 470 to 343, but its third through fifth runners keep it at the bottom of the ten.
Spanish River (4A) and St. Thomas Aquinas (4A), which raced full lineups, are first and second out.
How this works, briefly. Every runner is scored on her whole season, with the most recent race counting most. A school's five best runners on that basis go into one virtual race with every other school's, scored the way cross country is scored. Times are leveled to Cecil Field through the runners who ran both the 2025 state meet and the course in question. A meet a team won is never allowed to lower its figure. Where two teams have raced each other and neither has raced its top runners since, the result on the grass orders them. A team that has not raced at all is projected from its returning five.
Points climb as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages. The averages below are converted season figures; the times next to each runner are her season figures in Cecil Field terms. Out-of-state entries are excluded, and IMG Academy competes as an FHSAA Independent outside the state series. The individual list is here, the boys' team list is here.

Recovery
The shoe for the walk back from the finish.
After a 5K in spikes, most teams change into a recovery slide before the cooldown is over. OOFOS OOahh slides have a soft, shock-absorbing foam that takes the load off tired feet and calves, and they rinse clean after a muddy course.

Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Carrollton, Bishop Moore and Bishop Kenny are ranked on the full-strength score, not the score they ran: 311, 360 and 470 on the day; 223, 288 and 343 with their missing runners placed. Every other team in the ten raced its full top five; its full-strength score is 10 to 16 points higher than what it ran only because the added runners finish ahead of some of its girls.
- Episcopal is first in the virtual race on season figures and seventh here: it did not race at New World, and Creekside beat it by one point at Katie Caples on September 19.

Method notes
- Full-strength scoring, how it works: for every Florida team at New World that was missing one of its season top five, we put the missing runner back into the race at her season figure converted to the New World course, then added 19 seconds to be conservative, and re-scored the whole race. Daniela Hernandez went in at 18:30, Camila Giles at 18:10 and Carolyn Susnis at 20:12. Every other runner kept the place she actually ran, and teams behind an added runner lose a point each time.
- Those added times are estimates, not results, and they are deliberately slower than the season says. A team ranked on them moves the next time it races at full strength, up or down.
- New World is our standard for 2026 team evaluation. In 2023-25, the New World order held at the state meet for about 84 percent of team pairs, so we use its order, not a fixed time conversion.
- New World reads 62 seconds fast for girls, measured on 214 runners who ran both it and last year's state meet.
- A team only counts as having raced when at least three of its season top seven ran. Teams that did not race hold their places.
- Head-to-head results from September 12 and earlier no longer order teams. The times still count in the figures.
- Not rated this week: Clearwater Central Catholic, Walton County Home Meet 1 and Trenton, where the boys' and girls' readings disagree, plus meets with too few runners to measure.
- Out-of-state teams at New World are left out of the course readings and the virtual race. IMG Academy is an FHSAA Independent.
- Points are a virtual-race sum and move every time a new file enters the pool; compare order and averages, not points, week to week.
