Episcopal holds first over Carrollton on the Horse Park finish, Ransom Everglades was second at Astronaut with 98 and moves from seventh to third, and Edgewood beat West Shore there.
Florida Class 2A girls cross country team rankings through four weeks: August 21-September 12, 2026
Episcopal did not race and is first over Carrollton, which has the better season figure by 25 seconds a runner, on the Horse Park finish: fourth there to Carrollton's eighth, and neither has raced since. Ransom Everglades was second at the Astronaut Invitational with 98, Julianna Hart seventh in 20:21.8, and moves from seventh to third. Bolles ran only its JV at Nights of Thunder and is fourth on Cecil Field. Montverde Academy, fourth a week ago, did not race and is seventh on the season figures. Edgewood was sixth at Astronaut and West Shore tenth, so Edgewood is eighth and West Shore ninth. Wolfson is out of the ten.
A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 2A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom. Races are not won until the kids have run. Enjoy.
About the times. The average on each line is the season figure the scoring uses, in Cecil Field terms. The times next to each runner are season figures too; the race log for every runner is on the rankings page.
The statewide lists: Week 4 girls team top 10 and Week 4 boys team top 10. The 2A girls individuals are here, and the week 3 edition of this list is here. The other classes this week: 2A boys, 1A girls, 3A girls, 4A girls.

Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Episcopal over Carrollton: 4th and 8th at the Horse Park, and neither has raced since.
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet. The girls' field ran about half a minute slower in August than at state, and that is removed before a course is rated.
- Each runner is scored on her whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts four times, last week three, week two twice, opening weekend once. A race she won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 2A team and are scored the way cross country is scored: top five count, sixth and seventh displace, five finishers required, low score wins. 83 2A girls teams cleared the bar; 0 of them are projections. Scores climb every week as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order and the averages.
- Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, and neither has raced since, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat. Those moves are listed above.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P). A returner who has raced for another school this season is not projected at the old one.
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
