Bishop Kenny holds first in the Class 3A girls team rankings after second at JAC without Camila Giles, and Vanguard moves back above Ponte Vedra.
Florida Class 3A girls cross country team rankings through eight weeks: August 21-October 10, 2026
The FSU Pre-State Invitational, the biggest meet of the fall, was canceled for Hurricane Isaias, and most of the state's best teams did not race. A team that sat out the weekend holds its place.
Bishop Kenny was second at the JAC Invitational with 53, ten points behind Episcopal of 2A, without its No. 1, Camila Giles; Jillian Jakab won the race in 19:22.2. That race is not held against Kenny. Lourdes won the 305 Classic on Friday with 19, Sofia Jimenez first. Ponte Vedra ran JAC with two of its top seven and was seventh.
Vanguard moves back above Ponte Vedra, the same call as on the statewide list: Ponte Vedra beat Vanguard at Speziale on October 3, but Vanguard ran that race without its No. 2, Cierra Mills.
A team is ranked on its whole season, with the most recent race counting most, and a meet it won never counts against it. A team that sat out the weekend is not marked down for it. The virtual race behind these scores contains only Class 3A teams, so a team's place here and on the statewide list can differ. As always, this is data plus judgment, and we will miss somebody along the way. A (P) beside a team means it has not put its returning five on a starting line and is entered on what they ran last November. How we sorted it out is at the bottom.
About the times. The average on each line is the converted season figure the scoring uses, in Cecil Field terms, and so are the times beside each runner's name. Times in the write-ups are what the kids actually ran that day; the race log for every runner is on the rankings page.
The statewide lists: Week 8 girls team top 10 and Week 8 boys team top 10. The 3A girls individuals are here, and last week’s edition of this list is here. The other classes this week: 3A boys, 1A girls, 2A girls, 4A girls.

Just missed
Estero did not race and beat Aubrey Rogers (Naples) at the North Port Invite. St. Petersburg beat Naples at flrunners.com on October 3.
Where the virtual race disagrees with this list
- Ponte Vedra over Vanguard: 1st and 2nd at the Craig Speziale Invitational, and they have not met since.
- Estero over Aubrey Rogers: 2nd and 8th at the North Port Invite, and they have not met since.
- St. Petersburg over Naples: 13th and 20th at the flrunners.com Invitational, and they have not met since.
- Bishop Moore over Chiles: Bishop Moore over Chiles carries from last week: the two have not met, and Moore's Hagerty win (24 points, Tomasic by 96 seconds) and its point over Kenny at Katie Caples keep it ahead of Chiles on body of work.
- Vanguard over Ponte Vedra: Vanguard over Ponte Vedra follows the statewide call (Oct. 11): Ponte Vedra beat Vanguard 30 to 46 at Speziale on Oct. 3, but Vanguard ran that race without its No. 2, Cierra Mills, and did not race this weekend.
Up next
Most of the state's top teams race this weekend at the New World Fall Spectacular, October 16-17 at Cecil Field in Jacksonville. Next week's lists will lean heavily on it.

Free to read, no paywall. Every Class 3A girls team race this season went into this list, and every team result was checked by hand. If it helps your team, you can buy us a coffee.
How we ranked them
- Every mark is converted to a Cecil Field equivalent through the runners who ran both that course and last year's state meet.
- Each runner is scored on her whole season, weighted toward the most recent race: this week counts eight times, last week seven, and so on back to opening weekend, which counts once. A race she won never lowers that figure, and a meet a team won never lowers the team's. A school's five best runners on that basis are its team.
- Those five, with a sixth and seventh where they exist, go into one virtual race against every other Class 3A team, scored the way cross country is scored. 94 3A girls teams cleared the bar; 0 of them are projections. Points climb as more teams enter and are not comparable to last week's; compare the order.
- Where two teams in this class have raced each other with at least three of their scoring seven, the team that won ranks ahead of the team it beat until they meet again. Where results go round in a circle, the newest meeting decides. A race run without a team's No. 1 or without two of its scoring five is not held against it.
- Results from September 12 and earlier no longer order teams. The times still count in the figures.
- The FSU Pre-State Invitational, the biggest meet of the fall, was canceled for Hurricane Isaias. A team that did not race this weekend holds its place.
- A team whose returning five have not raced is entered on last November's state times and marked (P).
- Classes are 2026-27, resolved against the FHSAA classification documents.
- Bishop Kenny ran JAC without Camila Giles, and that race is not held against it.
- Vanguard over Ponte Vedra matches the statewide call: Vanguard ran Speziale without Cierra Mills, and it did not race this weekend.
Every result behind this list is in the rankings section, and the full weekend is in the weekend recap.
