Girls Overall Individual Rankings — Week 1

Did not open, and still holds the position. Tomasic won the 3A state title as a freshman in 17:35.5, the fastest returning time by any girl in Florida and two seconds clear of the 4A champion. Nobody in this field has run within eighteen seconds of that mark, in November or in August. She is a sophomore, which is either terrifying or exciting depending on which side of the 3A bracket you sit on. Bishop Moore projects third as a team in 3A.

The only girl in Florida under 18:00 this fall, and the biggest single-race statement of the weekend. Duffell was ninth in 4A last November in 18:36.6. At Cecil Field she let Avery Hartley go, spent the second half closing a thirty to forty meter gap, took the lead with 800 to run and won in 17:53. That is a 43.6-second improvement on a course that graded honest and in air that graded anything but. She ranks second because she has actually done it this year.

The 4A state champion at 17:37.7, two-tenths off Tomasic and the second-fastest returning mark in the state. She sat out opening weekend. Like Will Moss on the boys' side, she is ranked on last November because last November is all anyone has, and she is the name most likely to force a rewrite the first time she pins a number on.

Runner-up at state in 18:00.3 as a freshman, runner-up at Cecil Field in 18:13 as a sophomore, and runner-up at this same meet the year before that. Hartley went to the front and held a real gap through halfway before the heat and Duffell caught her. Thirteen seconds off her state time in those conditions is a fine August, and she has the best raw résumé of anyone in Florida who is not a state champion.

Third at state in 18:06.9, third-fastest returning time in Florida, and she won the Ragin' Storm XC Challenge in 18:40.3. That course took 34.8 seconds off the returners who ran it, which prices her opener at roughly 18:06 Cecil-equivalent, dead level with what she ran in November. She also put 31 seconds on Lainee Mercer, who had finished within nine seconds of her at state. Nothing flashy, nothing lost.

The Holloway Park adjustment does for Eudaly what it did for Jaxon Kiper. She won the Jim Ryun Invitational in 19:00.9, which reads like a good-not-great time until you apply the 46.7-second correction and land at roughly 18:14 Cecil-equivalent. That would have been fourth-fastest in the state on the weekend. She was 13th in 4A at state in 18:57.4 and our 22nd-ranked returner. This is a considerably better runner than that.

Third in 1A at state as a freshman in 18:27.9, and the best small-school runner in Florida by a distance. Summers won at Lecanto in 18:32.9, on a course that graded within three seconds of Cecil, which makes it the third-fastest legitimate time in the state this weekend. She ran it essentially alone. The only knock is that she has not yet had to race anyone, and that will not change often in 1A.

The 2A state champion at 18:14.7, fourth-fastest returning mark in Florida. She ran 18:55 at Cecil for eighth, forty seconds off her state time, which is the kind of August evening a lot of good runners had on Friday. Ranked here on the strength of the title and the mark, with the opener treated as what it was.

Third at Cecil in 18:35, 38.8 seconds faster than her state run, and the second-biggest improvement by any ranked girl in Florida. Wilcox was 19th in 4A last fall and our 34th-ranked returner. East Lake drops to 3A for 2026-27, which puts her in Tomasic's bracket rather than Muller's. Senior years like this one tend to keep going.

Fourth at Cecil Field in 18:37, two seconds behind Wilcox, in the deepest field anybody in Florida faced this weekend. That is 37.4 seconds faster than her state run and it came in a Vanguard singlet for the first time, after a transfer from Ocala Forest. Hallick was 20th in 4A last November and our 35th-ranked returner, so this is a large move on one race. It is also the only kind of race that settles anything: she beat everyone in the state on Friday except the three girls ranked above her who were there.
