Fall is the busiest stretch of the year for new running shoes, and 2026 is stacked. Nike and adidas both have new marathon racers, Saucony rebuilt the Endorphin Speed, and ASICS made a shoe whose whole job is going slow. Most of them land right as Florida's racing season starts.
Here is every major road shoe launching from September through October, what changed, and who each one is for.

The biggest fall 2026 launches are the Nike Alphafly 4 (wide release October 29, $280), adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5 (out now, $275), Saucony Endorphin Speed 6 (October 15), Nike Pegasus Plus 2 (out now, $170), HOKA Arahi 9 (October 1, $155), ASICS Gel-SlowCush (October 1, $200), On Cloudsurfer 3 (October 1) and ASICS Sonicblast 2 (out now, $190).

Nike Alphafly 4
Release: Oct 29 (wide release) | Price: $280 | Type: Marathon racer

Nike sold a small first run on September 17 and it was gone the same day. The wide release is October 29, which lands right in time for December and January marathons.
The big change is a new, lighter foam called ZoomX LT, stacked with the regular ZoomX Nike has used for years. The carbon plate is wider for a more stable landing, and the two Air Zoom pods under the forefoot are lighter and quieter than before. Nike says the shoe is 5% lighter than the Alphafly 3.

adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5
Release: Out now (Sept 22) | Price: $275 | Type: Marathon racer
Weight: about 6.2 oz | Heel stack: 39mm | Foam: Lightstrike Pro with a carbon-infused Energyrim frame
adidas put this on sale at adidas.com on September 22, and it reached Fleet Feet stores on September 27.
The carbon rods from the Adios Pro 4 are gone. In their place is a carbon-infused frame adidas calls the Energyrim, which wraps the midsole. adidas says the shoe is 12% lighter than the Pro 4, and it gets a new upper and Continental rubber at the toe.
Who it is for: half and full marathon racers who want a lighter racer than the Alphafly. At about 6.2 oz it is among the lightest marathon racers on the market.
Saucony Endorphin Speed 6
Release: Oct 15 | Price: $175-$180 | Type: Plated tempo trainer
Weight: about 8.1 oz | Drop: 8mm | Foam: PWRRUN PBX with a nylon plate
The Speed has been one of the most popular do-everything fast shoes for years. Version 6 is a full redesign that goes on sale October 15. Retailers are listing it between $175 and $180.
It gets about 2mm more foam than the Speed 5 but weighs less. The foam is a PEBA blend that reviewers describe as firmer and snappier than before, and the nylon plate and rocker have been reworked.
Who it is for: tempo runs, marathon-pace long runs, and runners who want one shoe that can also race. It runs on the narrow side, so try it on if you have a wider foot.
Nike Pegasus Plus 2

The Pegasus Plus is the premium version of Nike's everyday Pegasus. Version 2 adds a curved Air Zoom unit under the forefoot, a roomier toe box, more curve at the toe and flex grooves in the outsole.
Who it is for: runners who want one shoe for easy days and some faster miles. The 10mm drop is on the high side, which many runners with tight calves or Achilles trouble like.
HOKA Arahi 9
Release: Oct 1 | Price: $155 | Type: Stability trainer
Weight: 10.0 oz | Drop: 8mm | Support: updated H-Frame
The Arahi is HOKA's everyday stability shoe, and version 9 arrives in the US on October 1. HOKA reworked the support frame, softened the foam and put a new mesh upper on top, with more structure on the inside of the arch.

ASICS Gel-SlowCush
Release: Oct 1 | Price: $200 | Type: Max-cushion easy-day shoe
Weight: about 10.5 oz | Drop: 8mm | Foam: FF Luxe Plus with a PureGel Plus heel insert
This is a brand new shoe, not an update, and the name tells you what it is for. ASICS built it for slow, easy miles and recovery days, with about 48mm of foam under the heel according to reviewers.
Who it is for: neutral runners who want the softest ride they can get on easy days, and anyone on their feet all day. It is not a speed shoe. Pair it with a faster trainer and you have two-thirds of a rotation.
On Cloudsurfer 3
Release: Oct 1 at specialty run shops | Price: $160 | Type: Cushioned daily trainer
Weight: 285 g (men's 8.5, per On) | Drop: 8mm | Foam: new Surreal foam with CloudTec Phase
On is giving specialty running stores the Cloudsurfer 3 first, on October 1, with the full worldwide launch in early 2027. It is a complete redesign built around a new foam On calls Surreal.
Who it is for: easy and long runs for runners who liked On's look but found older models too firm. Because it is starting in run shops, a local store is the easiest place to find it this fall.
ASICS Sonicblast 2
Release: Out now (Sept 1) | Price: $190 | Type: Plated super trainer

The Sonicblast 2 went on sale September 1 at $190, up $10 from the first version. It is a tall, plated trainer with ASICS' best racing foam on top and a softer foam underneath.
Who it is for: tempo work, long runs and marathon-pace sessions. Reviewers call it firm and responsive, so it is not the pick for recovery days.

The Alphafly 4 arrives October 29 and the Adios Pro 5 is already here, which puts both in range for the Space Coast Marathon (November 22), the Jacksonville Marathon (December 12) and the Celebration Marathon (January 31).
