Can you still get into the 2027 Miami Marathon?
Yes, but only through the official waitlist. General registration for both the marathon and the half marathon is sold out. The waitlist is free to join through September 30, 2026. Starting October 5, runners are picked at random on a rolling basis and get about 48 hours to pay and claim the spot.

How the waitlist works
- Joining is free. You only pay if you are picked.
- Picks are random. Being early on the list does not move you up.
- Watch for an email from hello@letsdothis.com. That is the race's registration platform. The email has a private link.
- You get about 48 hours. If you do not register in that window, the spot goes to the next name drawn.
- It runs until the field is full. Picks can keep coming after October 5, so keep an eye on your inbox and your spam folder.

Military runners can ask Athlete Services about a discount with ID, and the race runs an Athletes with Disabilities program. Both go through the race directly.
A word on buying a bib from someone else
The race says it is not involved in bib transfers or resales and does not vouch for any bib sold that way. A bought bib also puts someone else's name and emergency contact on your race number. The waitlist is the safe route.
Where to run instead
If the waitlist does not come through, South Florida and the rest of the state have plenty of winter races that are still open. A few that land close to Miami's date:
- Same weekend, full marathon: the Celebration Marathon and Half near Orlando is also on January 31, on one of the flattest courses in the state.
- Earlier in January, half marathon: the Naples Half Marathon on January 17.
- December, full or half: the Palm Beaches Marathon in West Palm Beach and the Jacksonville Marathon on December 12.
- February, half marathon: the Gasparilla half marathon in Tampa on February 21. Its prices go up October 1.

If you get picked
Four months is enough time for a half marathon block and a tight but workable window for a marathon if you already have a base. Our 13-week half marathon plan starts the first week of November and lands right on race week. For the full, start with the beginner marathon plan and check your goal pace on the marathon pace chart. Miami in late January is usually mild but humid, so the Florida heat guide still applies to your long runs this fall.
