Girls 2A Team Rankings — Week 1

Seventy points. In a 39-team class, a perfect score is 15, and Episcopal's projected five would finish 2nd, 5th, 10th, 20th and 33rd against everyone else's best.

Kate Brice 19:05.6 (18:36.8 at state), Graziana Gowdy 19:37.7 (19:08.9), Holland McKinney 19:56.0 (19:27.2), Stella Krueger 20:13.2 (19:44.4), Audrey Brice 20:41.4 (20:12.6), with Eve Sauvageau 20:55.1 as a sixth. Three of the top ten individuals in the class, on one roster, none of whom has raced.

That last part is the strange one. Episcopal's boys ran at Cecil Field — sixteen of them, across the Elite and C races, and they rank ninth in 2A on what they ran. The girls did not enter. Whatever the reason, the program was at the meet.

Episcopal is fifth in Florida across all classes on this projection, ahead of every 4A and 3A team except three. It is also entirely untested, and the gap to second here is 42 points, which is not the kind of margin that survives a bad fifth runner.

Daniela Hernandez 19:14.0 and Gabriella Socarras 19:46.1 are third and seventh in the class, and then Carrollton does something unusual: Emma Filippi 20:39.5, Antonia Beltran 20:45.5 and Paola De La Iglesia 20:50.1 finish 31st, 35th and 36th — three runners inside eleven seconds of each other. A 1:36 spread, front to back.

Ninth in Florida on projection. The sixth is Gabriella Bodoh at 22:41.7, a 1:51 drop, so the margin for error is the same as everyone else's on this list: none.

The best 2A girls team that actually ran, and it is not close. Sofie Stam 19:20.0 in the Cecil Elite race, fourth in the class and fourth on our individual board. Then Kavya Patel 20:30.0 and Palmer Edwards 20:31.0 together at 27th and 28th, Valentina Bouras 21:03.0, Eliana Bruneau 21:26.0 — and behind them Lila McGowan 21:31.0 and Peyton Hoover 21:31.0, tied, as sixth and seventh.

Bolles put eighteen girls on the Cecil Field course across two races. Seven of them are inside the first 54 of this class. That is the deepest verified squad in 2A and the only top-three team here carrying no projection risk at all.

Sixteenth in Florida — behind eleven teams that also raced and four that did not. Whether 146 beats Episcopal's 70 in November is the season's question in this class, and it will not be answered by arithmetic.

Molly Taylor 19:49.7 is eighth in the class, Lily Ghavami 20:22.4 and Alex Louie 20:38.5 follow at 25th and 29th, and then it opens up badly: Evelyn Liever 22:08.3 at 65th, Hayden Tingue 22:29.5 at 79th. A 2:39 spread on the friendliest possible version of the roster.

Berkeley's front three finished 8th, 25th and 29th — 62 points, against Bolles's 59 for a slower trio that simply did not have a hole behind it. Berkeley's four and five give back everything and then sixty more.

Lyla McMillen 19:44.1 is sixth in the class and Alafair Scelfo 20:09.1 sixteenth, both top-ten-caliber returners, and then a 1:04 gap to Federica Perez 21:13.2 and a further 1:21 to Amaris Munya 22:34.6 and Alon Scelfo 22:43.7.

Montverde entered nobody this weekend — not the girls, not the boys, not a JV squad. On the boys' side that absence cost them a ranking entirely, because only two Montverde boys have 2025 state times and five are required. The girls have seven, so they are here, on a 2:59 spread that a single summer could fix or confirm.

The most extreme roster shape in the top ten. Claire Chanon 19:58.5 and Molly Murphy 20:02.2 at 11th and 12th, Allison Albrect 20:17.7 at 22nd — a genuine top-three pack, all within nineteen seconds — and then Giuliana Serra at 63rd and Sofia Licata at 131st.

A fifth runner at 131 out of a 39-team field is not a scoring position, it is a penalty. Cardinal Gibbons has the third-best 1-2-3 in the class — 45 points across three runners, behind only Episcopal's 17 and Carrollton's 41 — and the worst fifth runner in the top ten, thirteen places behind the next worst. Six points behind Montverde with a demonstrably stronger front is the entire cost of that.

Gillian Carvalho 20:19.9, Anna Block 20:42.1, London Ross 21:32.1, Ella Griffin 21:46.9, Amelia Gonzales 22:23.3. No runner in the class top twenty and no runner outside the top 75, which is the balanced version of what Cardinal Gibbons is doing and lands eight points behind it.

Ransom Everglades has exactly five returners with state times. No sixth, no seventh, nothing in reserve. Every other team in this top ten has at least one spare. If Ransom loses anybody, it does not score.

The second raced team on the board. Tessa Brown 20:04.0 in the Cecil Elite race, thirteenth in the class, then Vicki Burkly 21:16.0 and Lucy Burkly 21:24.0 together at 43rd and 47th, Elisa Kate Stroup 22:39.0 and Lily Kissel 22:43.0 at 84th and 87th.

274 points, run and verified, against four projections above it that have run nothing. The Crusaders are the second-best evidence-backed team in 2A and they are ranked eighth.

The only top-ten team that raced away from Cecil Field. Harper Thomerson ran 21:08.1 at Holloway Park for a converted 20:21.0, Reese Burnham 21:51.4 (21:04.3), Victoria Lima 22:28.5 (21:41.4), Lois Johnson 22:46.8 (21:59.7), Victoria Clark 24:07.3 (23:20.2).

Worth checking against last November: Thomerson's 2025 state time projects to 20:14.2, and she converted to 20:21.0 — seven seconds off, which is to say she opened exactly on form. The +47.1 Holloway correction is doing what it is supposed to do here.

Aleah Sawyer 20:04.4 at 14th, Camille Maury 21:13.3 at 42nd, then Andrea Cavallaro 22:06.5, Isabella Rodriguez 22:23.2 and Carolina Aizemberg 23:31.9 out at 118th. A 3:27 spread, no race, and a sixth runner at 25:25.4.
