#9 — 3A Boys 2026 Week 4
Fourth at the Astronaut Invitational in 16:33.8, worth about 16:04, a second behind teammate Brody Johnson. Three races, 15:56.0 at Cecil Field, 16:09.4 at the Kowboy, and Saturday, all within eight seconds of each other leveled. Sixth to ninth as Hagen and Bremerman came in above him.
#6 — 3A Boys 2026 Week 3
15:56.0 at Cecil Field and 16:09.4 at the Kowboy Invitational, and no race in week three. He was 79th in 3A at state in 17:08.7. The season figure holds sixth on two good races that are getting older.
#9 — 3A Boys 2026 Week 1
The largest improvement by any 3A boy this weekend, by a wide margin. Childrey was 79th in 3A at state in 17:08.7 and ran 15:56.0 for 14th in the Cecil Elite race — 73 seconds faster in November terms.
A jump that size off one race deserves skepticism, and it gets some: he is ranked ninth rather than higher because there is nothing else to check it against. It also came in the hardest race in Florida rather than an easy one, which is the version of a breakout worth believing. Rockledge ranks 13th in 3A.
