He has not raced Houk, Sackenheim or Macias-Buenrostro. Eighth, a shade behind Macias-Buenrostro on figure.

Third at the Katie Caples Invitational in 16:04.0, behind Andrew Sides of Buchholz 4A and Will Moss of Montverde Academy 2A, and 20 seconds ahead of Ross. Third at Jim Ryun in 16:21.1 in August, second at St. Cloud in 15:43.8, three tenths behind Rivera. He beat Ross on Saturday and Ilea at Jim Ryun, and no boy on this list has beaten him; he and Kiros have not met. Sixth, where he was.

The biggest riser on the page, and he got here by racing. Harris was third at Jim Ryun on opening weekend in 16:21.1, then on Saturday ran 15:43.8 for second at the St. Cloud Invitational, three tenths behind Luis Rivera and 35 seconds clear of everybody else in a field of 188. St. Cloud runs a little slow, so that is worth about 15:33 on neutral ground, and two races that both land in the top fifteen add up to a season worth seventh. He was 16:10 at state last year. He is a lot better than that now.

Third at the Jim Ryun Invitational in 16:21.1, worth about 15:43 on the Holloway conversion, and quiet since. He holds fifth for the second straight week while the two boys below him close in fast, and he and Howdeshell are the only two on this list not entered Saturday. A second race would do him good.

Jim Ryun graded 38.2 seconds slow off 40 returners — the most reliable non-Cecil conversion available — putting him at 15:42.9, a 28-second improvement on his 16:10.2 state mark.

He was 16th in 3A in November and he is fifth here. Lake Wales ranks 28th in 3A as a team, so this is another individual campaign, but the number is solid and it came in a race with people in front of him.
