**Why We Run ** Marion County is home to some of Florida's most treasured natural resources, including Silver Springs, Rainbow Springs, and Silver Glen Springs. These springs, along with our lakes and rivers, make Marion County a unique place to live, work, and play.
Because we all rely on these water resources for drinking water and everyday life, protecting them is a shared responsibility. The Run for the Springs 5K raises awareness about actions individuals and businesses can take to help preserve our water resources for future generations.
Proceeds from the event are returned to Marion County residents and local businesses through grants that support projects benefiting the health and protection of our springs.
