Won the Crystal River middle school meet on Thursday in 10:56.0, 21.2 seconds ahead of teammate Jace Lewis, with Karter James third for a VCMS sweep. He beat Wilson at Seffner Christian and Moylan and Cardoso at the Horse Park, and all three sit below him. Matyka and Destremps beat him at the Range.

Third at Running on the Range in 10:29.0, 30 seconds behind Matyka and 27 behind Destremps, and both go above him for it. Second at the Horse Park in 10:05.2, won Seffner Christian. He holds seventh over Cardoso, Moylan and Claypool because he beat all three at the Horse Park and none of them has met him since.

Won the Seffner Christian middle school 3K in 10:44.5, 2.4 seconds ahead of Warren Wilson, on a course that reads 45 seconds slow by the 115 kids who have also run the state meet, worth 9:59.7 in November terms and the third-best figure on the board. Second at the Horse Park in 10:05.2 a week earlier, a tenth ahead of Moylan and ahead of Cardoso, Matyka and Claypool. The arithmetic forgets a head-to-head once either runner races again, and it moved him from third to eighth after a win; the rule here is that a loss stands until the two meet again, and nobody who finished behind him in Ocala has beaten him since. Opened his season at the Horse Park and ran 10:05.2 for second, 37 seconds faster than his 10:42.7 at state last fall, where he was sixth in the charter race. He beat Moylan by a tenth, LaHayne by eight seconds and Matyka by eleven. Only three of the 246 boys broke 10:10, and he was one of them. The boys he beat are ranked behind him.
