Won the Palmer Trinity Invitational by a full minute in 19:09.5, on the slowest course in Florida by a wide margin. On the conversion we carry that is worth about 16:33, which would put him seventh. He is held tenth, behind three boys who ran their times at Cecil Field with no conversion at all, because a rating that large deserves a seatbelt. One race anywhere else settles it.

The new name of the week, from the meet almost nobody in this class saw. Arrojo won the Palmer Trinity Invitational on Thursday night in 19:09.5, a minute clear of the field. That looks like nothing until you price the course: Palmer Trinity ran brutally slow, the slowest of any venue we have measured this season, and the runners there with state times to compare against agree about it unusually well. Leveled out, Arrojo's race is worth about 16:33, dead even with Kline and Kirwan, against the 18:07.8 he ran at state as a freshman.

He is seventh rather than fifth because a time that needed that much leveling deserves a seatbelt, and because Kline and Kirwan ran theirs raw at Cecil with nothing to adjust. But the jump is nearly Arterburn-sized, he is a sophomore, and True North now has a front-runner nobody was tracking two weeks ago.
