State XC Meet through Gulf Coast Runners

State Qualifiers / Open race

This registration is for middle school runners wishing to attend the FLYRA middle school state meet in Lakeland, FL.  You may have qualified as a team member (top 30% of finishing teams at a sanctioned race) or as an individual (top 10% at a qualifying race) OR be in the open race (No qualification required). NEW THIS YEAR - OPEN RACE IS ON FRIDAY 10/30/26 in the evening NOT SATURDAY when the varsity runs.  Coach Moomaw will be there to coach you, but you run on a different day than the top 10 runners of your schools.

• NO OTHER REGISTERING IS NECESSARY BY AN INDIVIDUAL (Do NOT enter them yourself on milesplit!).  Gulf Coast Runners and Coach Moomaw will officially enter the kids into the meet.

Practices and uniform distribution

Your race fees INCLUDES A GCR RACE uniform. We will hold practice on Monday, October 19th and Wednesday (10/21) at Naples HS Track from 5:30pm - 6:30pm.  The athlete, a teammate or a representative needs to be able to attend to pick up your teams uniforms.  CCPS TEAM ISSUED UNIFORMS are not permissible by Collier County Public Schools rules (since the event is non CCPS sanctioned)  Attendance at practices are NOT required to participate in the state meet, but they are open for participants to obtain more information and/or a light workout under the direction of a GCR approved coach.  1 team member or coach may pick up the uniforms of other teams.  Your uniform/singlet is included in the price of your registration.  Some teams have also indicated interest in obtaining their own jerseys of a higher quality, which is fine.  We just ask that they be sure you include Gulf Coast Runners somewhere on your singlet (Teams have also organized their own shorts or matching shorts in the past..... that is up to the team/runner)

The time schedule for the October 31st race is below: REMINDER (Varsity/ Top 10 only on Sat!)

7:15am -  GIRLS meet Coach Moomaw at the Gulf Coast Runners tent for bib distribution, course maps and strategy, and any other last minute direction

**8:40am **- BOYS meet Coach Moomaw at the tent. NOTE* Failing to show up on time will result in you having to grab your own bib out of the tote. Coach Moo needs each individual to commit to the times listed, so that all 50-75 kids can have a positive experience. Coaching my own teams becomes my highest priority once everyone is welcomed and given their bibs/instructions.  Please plan accordingly!

**9:00am Boys Championship MS Club ** (This would be where our Gulf Coast Runners club team would race if they do not run for their schools)

OPEN RUNNERS/JV Race (10/30 -* FRIDAY NIGHT*)

Girls at 5/ Boys at 5:30pm (Meet Coach Moomaw at 4:30pm at the Gulf Coast Runners ten to receive your bibs!)

If you are planning to stay in a hotel, I would recommend booking early.  The closer we get to the date of the event, more people will qualify and begin to take the rooms.  With a later start time staying overnight is not required (especially for open runners), but just a pro tip if you plan to :)
