Hodges Stadium is the University of North Florida's 9,400-seat track and soccer stadium at 1 UNF Drive in Jacksonville. Its nine-lane competition track, the Visit Jax Track, hosts the FHSAA high school state track championships and the ASUN Outdoor Championships, and it has held the NCAA East First Round eight times.
If you are headed there, it is almost certainly for a track meet. Every May the Florida high school state championships run on this track, one class per day, with qualifiers from every corner of the state. Here is what to know before you go.

Where Is Hodges Stadium?
Hodges Stadium sits on the University of North Florida campus on Jacksonville's Southside. The mailing address is 1 UNF Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Put "Hodges Stadium" or "1 UNF Drive" in your maps app and follow the campus signs to the stadium lots.

Parking, Tickets and Spectator Info
What you pay depends on the meet. For the 2026 FHSAA state championships:
- Tickets: $14 per day in advance, $17 on the day, sold through the UNF Athletics ticket office (digital tickets).
- Parking: $3 of every ticket covers parking. Nobody collects parking money on site, so buy your ticket first.
- Where to park: use the lot on the parking map FHSAA links from its meet notice. UNF sets the lots each year.
- Can't make it? The state meet streams on the NFHS Network via MileSplit, with live results from HalfMile Timing.
College meets, club meets and invitationals set their own ticket and parking rules, so check the meet information page for the event you are going to.
The Track at Hodges Stadium
The Visit Jax Track is built for championship meets. UNF finished it in August 2008 as a nine-lane, Olympic-quality Mondotrack SX surface, and that December it became one of seven facilities in the U.S. to earn IAAF certification. In 2021 the Duval County Tourist Development Council put $950,000 toward resurfacing the competition and practice tracks and adding broadcast fiber. That is where the Visit Jax name comes from.
Everything happens inside one stadium: the jumps, the vault and the throws all sit inside the bowl, so parents can watch a 4x100 and a triple jump flight without walking across campus. Athletes warm up on the three-lane, 400m track next door.
More work is coming. In March 2026 UNF announced an $8 million gift from the Estate of Kernan R. Hodges. It pays for restroom and locker room upgrades, press box renovations and infrastructure work, on top of the broadcast lighting and video board already installed.
Is There Cross Country at Hodges Stadium?
No. Hodges Stadium is a track and soccer stadium, not a cross country course, so it has no XC course rating. You will see Hodges listed on some results sites next to cross country tables, but the stadium does not host high school 5k races. Hodges hosts high school, college and youth meets from March through the summer. The 2026 season included:

FHSAA state championships. The Florida high school state meet runs one class per day at Hodges, with individual and team titles in 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A. The meet returned to Hodges in 2021, when the University of Florida could not host it, and was held here again in 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
ASUN Outdoor Championships. UNF has hosted the ASUN Conference meet at Hodges since 2009; 2026 was the 16th time in 17 seasons.
NCAA East First Round. Hodges has hosted the NCAA East regional eight times, including 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2023.
Southeast Meet of Champions. A new USATF-sanctioned meet from Trials of Miles Racing for athletes ages 6 to 18, first held in May 2026. On Friday night, once the high school program ends, the lights stay on for Miles After Dark: open mile heats seeded by goal time, with pacers in every heat.
Hodges has also hosted the USATF Masters Outdoor Championships and the USATF National Junior Olympics (both in 2015), the Bob Hayes Invitational, the American Track League and the Duval County Challenge.
Hodges Stadium Records
UNF does not publish an official list of Hodges Stadium records, and the MileSplit venue page does not show one either. The best records for the stadium are its meet results: the FHSAA state meet results on Florida TFRRS, and the ASUN and NCAA East results on TFRRS.
Can You Run on the Hodges Stadium Track?
Not without a reservation. UNF keeps the Hodges Stadium track closed to all use unless it is reserved in advance through the track and field office at (904) 620-2559. The three-lane recreational track next to the stadium is open for fitness use, and groups can book it through UNF Campus Recreation at (904) 620-2998.
